City launches SmallBizSantaClarita.com

New Web site geared toward assisting local small businesses

The city of Santa Clarita officially launched SmallBizSantaClarita.com yesterday to respond to the needs of the local small business community.

The new site directly connects local small businesses with services, incentives and opportunities available through the city of Santa Clarita, the SCV Chamber of Commerce, Valley Industrial Association, College of the Canyons, Small Business Development Center, Santa Clarita WorkSource Center and more.

From prospective business owners to longtime entrepreneurs, SmallBizSantaClarita.com provides local small businesses with the tools required to build, sustain and expand their professional endeavors.

Visitors to the site will find a number of important resources, including money-saving incentives, employee-training programs, networking groups and the city's Guide to Opening a Small Business, featuring step-by-step information on opening a new business.

"The city of Santa Clarita understands how strongly the success of local small businesses relates to the health of Santa Clarita's economy and exemplary quality of life," Mayor Laurene Weste said. "From corner shops and local grocers, to restaurants and apparel retailers, SmallBizSantaClarita.com offers vital tools and techniques to help businesses flourish, while benefitting the community as a whole."

SmallBizSantaClarita.com features several web pages geared toward specific business needs including Business Resources, Incentive Programs, Doing Business with the City, Community Partners, Sponsorship Opportunities and more.

Click on the link for the site's Business Resources page to learn about services offered by the local Small Business Development Center, Santa Clarita WorkSource Center, and new City Permit Center, with information on expedited permitting.

The current economy is a topic on all business owners' minds, and SmallBizSantaClarita.com offers an entire webpage devoted to Incentive Programs.
