Gauny, Boydston a breath of fresh air

In today’s mail I received two slick postcards endorsing the incumbents in our coming City Council election. They were mailed from a high-rise in West Los Angeles.

(Thanks, City Council, for “Thinking Santa Clarita.”)

The endorsements are from names all will recognize: the SCV Chamber of Commerce, Rep. Howard “Buck” McKeon, state Sen. George Runner, state Sen. Tony Strickland, Assemblyman Cameron Smyth, Assemblywoman Audra Strickland, College of the Canyons’ board member Scott Wilk and Castaic Lake Water Agency directors William Cooper, Jerry Gladbach and R.J. Kelly.

It’s refreshing to see the Republican office holders giving endorsements to their friends — in a non-partisan race.

These expensive, well-financed postcards are a testament to only one thing — cronyism.

That’s why I am voting for David Gauny and TimBen Boydston, who are not being promoted either by developers or by out-of-town money.

Gauny and Boydston will bring a breath of fresh air, representation and openness to our community.

I encourage you to vote for them, too.
