Hospital names new vice president

Larry Kidd now handles patient care

Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital has a new vice president on board.

Larry R. Kidd began work Tuesday as the vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer.

"Larry is a tremendous asset and the perfect person to join our leadership team," hospital CEO Roger Seaver said in a statement. "His strong background and dynamic leadership skills will provide tremendous value as we continue to improve the patient experience and create the ideal health care environment for our community."

Kidd's experience includes positions as a chief nurse executive and chief operating officer levels and has more than 25 years of experience in acute care facilities.

Kidd's accomplishments include developing new clinical product lines, long range strategic plans, patient satisfaction improvement strategies, nursing recruitment and retention, and cost containment strategies.

He has a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Alabama and a master's of public administration from the University of San Francisco.

He also completed a fellowship in nursing administration at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and is enrolled in the doctoral program for health administration and leadership at the Medical University of South Carolina.
