Easter bunny roughed up in New York town

FISHKILL, N.Y. (AP) - Police said a woman dressed as the Easter bunny to promote a Hudson Valley candy shop was slammed to the ground by a man who then ran away. The 46-year-old woman, who was dressed in a white bunny costume, was not seriously hurt in the attack around 5 p.m. Wednesday outside the Alps Sweet Shoppe on Main Street in the village of Fishkill.

State police Investigator George Mohl said the attacker has not been caught.

The man was described as about 17 years old with blond hair, wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt and a green zippered sweat shirt.

Man sues after stepping in feces
NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - A Poquoson man who said he fell after stepping in dog feces at a PetSmart store has filed a $1 million negligence lawsuit against the company. Robert Holloway alleges in his lawsuit in U.S. District Court that he badly injured his back, struck his head and knocked out four teeth when he slipped in January 2009 at a Newport News PetSmart.

He alleges that PetSmart and its manager should have protected him from a hazardous condition created when they allowed animals to defecate on the floor.

In court documents, Phoenix-based PetSmart denied the negligence allegations.

Anxious for his fish sandwich
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) - Police said an impatient customer slapped a drive-thru worker at a New Jersey McDonald's because he was tired of waiting for his Filet-O-Fish sandwich. The man paid for the sandwich at the first window at the restaurant on Route 1 in South Brunswick early Sunday.

Surveillance video obtained by WNBC-TV in New York shows the man climbed out the back window of a vehicle and into the pickup window.

Police said the man told an employee he would be waiting for him, slapped him in the face and walked out of the store with the sandwich.

Hotel evacuated as wrong plug used
RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) - Firefighters in a Vermont city said a hotel had to be evacuated in the middle of the night after a guest plugged a European DVD player into an American electrical outlet. Firefighters said the incompatible plug created a lot of smoke at the Comfort Inn and fire alarms were triggered early Tuesday throughout the 104-room hotel.

Emergency workers didn't find a fire, but they did find a burned-out television and DVD player.

Stolen snack truck triggers feeding frenzy
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - Atlantic City police said a Frito-Lay delivery truck was stolen, abandoned and recovered, but not before some people helped themselves to "free" snacks. Police Sgt. Monica McMenamin said the truck was stolen at about 10:45 a.m. Thursday when the driver went inside a store on Baltic Avenue, four blocks west of the Boardwalk casinos, to make a delivery.

When officers found the truck abandoned a short time later on nearby Maryland Avenue, people were running off carrying bags of chips.
