Detectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station's Robbery and Assault team are investigating two unrelated incidents of armed robbery that occurred just minutes apart on Wednesday night.

The first reported incident occurred at 10:53 p.m. at the Jack in the Box restaurant at 28090 North Hasley Canyon Road in Castaic.

A male suspect wearing gloves and a mask entered the location carrying a black handgun. The suspect demanded money from the employees and took their cell phones. The man obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area on foot southbound on Hasley Canyon Road. The suspect is described as a male black in his early 20s, black hair and brown eyes, 6' tall, 200 pounds.

The second incident occurred at 11 p.m. in the 18000 block of Flynn Drive in unincorporated Canyon Country.

A woman called the station to report that she was just robbed by three men as she got out of her car after parking in her garage.
She said she was on her way to close the garage door when the first suspect, described only as a male black adult, thin build with black hair, ran toward her holding a black handgun. The suspect demanded money from the victim.

A second suspect with a similar physical description entered the victim's car and stole her purse from the front seat. A third man stood outside the garage. All three suspects fled the area on foot.

Several deputies converged on the area of each incident in search of the suspects, but were unable to locate them.

The investigations into both incidents are continuing.

Anyone with any information about these crimes is asked to immediately contact the SCV Sheriff's Station's Robbery/Assault Team at (661) 255-1121.
