The Wm. S. Hart Union High School District Governing Board has appointed 10 new members to Citizens' Oversight Committees which oversee district expenditures on voter-approved Measure V and Measure SA school construction bonds.

Kevin Farr, a principal in the firm of Integrated Land Solutions, has been appointed to fill a vacancy on the Measure SA Oversight Committee. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's in finance and is experienced in urban land development and school construction.

Nine new members have been appointed to the Measure V Oversight Committee to take the place of committee members whose second two-year terms are expiring. New members include Robert Aholt, Matthew Denny, Jeffrey Eisenberg, Julia B. Hicken, Julianne Johnson, Robert A. Levine, Perry Mangers, Debbie Morrison, and Tami Stephens.

Aholt is managing director of Systems Consulting and Design, LLC, supporting clients in the finance, information technology and strategy areas. Denny, a Certified Public Accountant and partner in Denny & Company, LLP, brings to the committee 15 years of experience in accounting, tax preparation, financial audits and business planning.

Eisenberg is a mortgage broker with Southern Oaks Mortgage, Inc., and also has been active in Hart District schools presenting Credit & You seminars and Connecting to Success workshops for Junior Achievement. Hicken brings a parent's perspective to the committee as a member of the Parent Advisory Council at Rancho Pico Junior High School.

An interest in local politics and overcrowding in local schools was cited by Johnson in her application. She teaches at Opportunities for Learning, a charter school operating under the Hart District umbrella. Levine is a former Measure V Committee member who has recently returned to the local area and seeks to offer the Oversight Committee his experience as an accountant and economist.

Mangers is an accountant with Jacobs Engineering who believes his experience in financial reporting and project accounting make him uniquely suited to the Oversight Committee. Morrison is a former substitute teacher who holds a bachelor's degree in organizational management from The Master's College and currently is a graduate student at George Washington University's School of Education and Human Development. She is active in parent organizations at Rancho Pico Junior High School and Hart High School.

Stephens is a part-time substitute teacher with the Saugus Union School District, has two children in the Hart District and two who will be in the district in the future. She applied to the Oversight Committee as part of a personal commitment to community service.

The new Measure V Oversight Committee Members will gather for a training session on April 26 before joining the committee at its next regular meeting May 24. Farr will join the Measure SA Oversight Committee hat its next meeting April 13.
