Master Chorale goes British

‘A British Invasion’ will feature ‘Dixit Dominus,’ Shakespeare love songs and more

The Santa Clarita Master Chorale will perform at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center this Sunday.

 

Just in time for spring, the Santa Clarita Master Chorale will present "A British Invasion."

You may have heard Handel's "Messiah," but come enjoy London transplant George Frederick with his energetic and surprising work "Dixit Dominus." It features his colorful word-painting and fugue-writing at its best.

The concert will also entice with love songs from William Shakespeare, and a medley of English folk tunes guaranteed to open your heart a little wider.

You also won't want want to miss John Tavener's haunting "Hymn to Athena," performed at the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales.
