Strong and gusty northwest winds will continue blowing through northwestern Los Angeles County, including the Interstate 5 corridor and the Santa Clarita Valley, until late Sunday morning.

A National Weather Service wind avisory remains in effect until noon Sunday.

SCV residents can expect sustained winds between 20 mph-30 mph with gusts up to around 45 mph, with the strongest winds through and below canyons and passes, according to the service.

A wind advisory means that winds of 35 mph of greater are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially high-profile vehicles.
