Power outage at Hart High; no school today

Students at Hart High School are getting an unscheduled holiday today thanks to a major power outage that hit the school early Sunday morning.

District staff, electricians and Edison have been working to rectify the problem. As of late yesterday about half the classrooms had power but, unfortunately, none of the fire alarm systems was operable.

Superintendent Jaime Castellanos sent a telephone message to all staff and families letting them know that there will be no school today.

Most of the power has been restored this morning, but the school is still not at 100 percent capacity.

The administrative team will be at the site all day.
