No sense of humor?

Regarding the article on Congressman Howard "Buck" McKeon's joke at the women's conference ("McKeon apologizes for joke at women's conference," The Signal, Feb. 19):

What has happened to America's sense of humor? McKeon's statement was obviously meant as humor, yet some women took offense to it.
I've found in my 70-plus years people without a sense of humor fall into two categories.

One group is so "full of themselves" they take offense at everything. The other group is involved in a job or project in which they are over their head and are afraid their incompetence will be found out, so they strike out at any inference that they may not be as smart as their co-workers.

Frankly, it doesn't matter into which category they fall. I personally don't want to associate with them because they are no fun to be around.
One wonders why Carly Fiorina is no longer head of Hewlett-Packard.

I am also not a fan of McKeon, who has voted for TARP, cash for clunkers and refused to co-sponsor a bill that only required the originator say what part of the Constitution authorizes the bill.

This was standard until FDR became president, and obviously not unlike our present Congress and president and their unconstitutional laws.
