Pleasantview Industries held its 11th annual No-Tap Tournament and fundraiser at Valencia Lanes. One hundred and twenty bowlers participated in the tournament to raise funds for the programs at Pleasantview, a local nonprofit that has been serving individuals in the Santa Clarita Valley for the past 40 years.

Bill Mossontte, owner of Valencia Lanes, has hosted the event at the bowling center since its inception.

"Bill not only graciously allows the use of the entire center but does a wonderful job as MC for the evening's activities," said Del Guyer, Pleasantview's board president, "We couldn't do this event without the generosity of Bill and his staff."

The fundraiser also included a silent auction, 50/50 drawings and prize giveaways.

The tournament has become popular with league bowlers associated with the bowling center but two teams of Pleasantview program participants also participated. "It was enjoyable," said Saundra Wolfberg, Pleasantview program participant. "We had a lot of fun and it was nice to see all of the people out to support us."

Pleasantview, established in 1969, provides work services, life skills training and community job placement for one hundred individuals on a daily basis. The organization is raising funds to help bridge the gap created by cutbacks in state funding in recent years. Individuals interested in more information about Pleasantview's programs can call (661) 296-6700.
