Sheriff’s deputies are looking for help identifying a man who allegedly stole from a Saugus house

Sheriff’s detectives have asked for the public’s assistance in hunting down a burglary suspect.

The suspect allegedly entered a home on the 27000 block of Catala Avenue in Saugus, by smashing the rear sliding glass door. He ransacked the house and stole jewelry, according to sheriff’s information released on Monday.

The suspect is being sought for questioning only in connection with the burglary, which occurred Thursday afternoon, the news release said.

A sheriff’s report has described the man as a male Hispanic, 25 to 30 years-old, between 5 feet and 7 to 9 inches tall and weighing 180 to 200 pounds.

He was wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and dark beanie with a white strip during the time of the crime.

He also appeared to have a mustache and other facial hair at the time of the burglary.

Detectives are encouraging anyone with information about the crime or the suspect’s whereabouts to contact the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121.
