Showdown rocks the REP with jazz and blues

The Showdown Performing Arts program at the Boys and Girls Club of the Santa Clarita Valley held a music-filled benefit fundraiser at the Repertory East Playhouse in Newhall.

Performing at the event were Katherine Meyering who performed a variety of tunes including "Up on the Roof," and "On a Clear Day."

The Showdown Band, Kevin Cloud on drums, Dan Kirkpatrick on guitar and vocals, Aki Yambe on bass and Dennis Poore on keyboard "Tore Down" at the REP, bringing the audience to their feet with shouts of "more!"

Ariel Herman and Michelle Muldoon, Showdown students, sang "The Queen of Mean" from the Showdown production of "Mirror Image."

A Showdown student from Missouri, Cole Lympus sang his original song "Bad Situation."

Showdown Performing Arts offers a free after-school performing arts program to students at the Sierra Vista clubhouse of the SCV Boys and Girls Club during the school year.
