Shortly after 10:45 a.m., the motorcyclist, whose name was not yet released by authorities, drove along Soledad Canyon Road when he apparently lost control at an embankment and veered off the road, according to Pack.
When officers arrived at the scene, the motorcyclist was immediately declared dead, he added. Next of kin have not yet been notified, according to the county coroner's office.
The cause of the accident was unclear, though the driver was apparently wearing a helmet.
Alcohol did not appear to be a factor, according to authorities.
No one else was involved or injured in the crash.
It is unclear whether the fatal accident was related to the Renegade Classics 4th Annual Summer Kick Off Poker Run, a motorcycle run of approximately 60 riders who visited several saloons and bars in unincorporated areas of the Santa Clarita Valley.
Additional information will be released as soon as it is made available by authorities.
