Mitchell Community School students held a shoe drive the week of Jan. 25 for the victims of Haiti’s devastating earthquake. Mitchell parent Raelene Rodi coordinated the event with Souls4Soles and Sport Chalet. That weekend, about 450 pairs of shoes were shipped to Haiti. The Student Council and PTA were amazed by the response from the community. Principal Roni Andrus said, “As you can see there was an extraordinary turnout of support for people in need, and in Mitchell School tradition everyone stepped in to help. The students are very proud of their accomplishment and they should be.”
