Do the right thing

In regards to the Bob Kellar incident, I think we must all remember that we are a nation of law-abiding citizens, with rights provided for by our constitution, or at least we should be.

Law abiding. This means we follow the laws provided for by our Congress. By doing so, we retain our rights provided by our Constitution.

Kellar, as far as I know, is a law-abiding citizen. Therefore, I am certain that he has retained his First Amendment right to free speech.

I know of no amendment that limits his speech to political correctness.

If you are here illegally, get legal. Enjoy the rights provided to us that are either by birth or by the character that most Americans are made of. Our country was built by immigrants, most of them legal.

A rose is a rose, I don’t care what you may want to call it.

I ask you all, must we succumb to political correctness, so we can brush the law aside? I hope not.

What about the alienated legal immigrants — us — who pay the taxes so our children can have an education, prosper and know that doing right by the law is the passage that makes us Americans.

I ask any illegal immigrant to step forward and do the right thing.

For the better life they wish to obtain in this land, do we want those who would break the law, wave foreign flags and chant the lie that we owe them what our forbearers, with thought and sweat and the fruit of hard work created?

For Kellar’s sake, I hope not.
