Senior Lunch Menu
Available Monday through Friday at the SCV Senior Center in Newhall, and at Bouquet Canyon Seniors. Also available Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Masonic Lodge in Friendly Valley (661) 299-4595.

Income tax help for seniors
IRS/AARP trained volunteers will be available to help seniors complete and file their income taxes, free, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons starting Feb. 9 through April 14, SCV Senior Center, 22900 Market St., Newhall. Participants need to bring a picture ID, copy of Social Security card, and last year’s tax return to appointment. Santa Clarita Swing Jazz Club
Listen and dance along to live swing music from “The Blue Lagoon,” 2 – 5 p.m., fourth Sunday of every Month. $8-10 or yearly membership for $15 - $25. Info: (661) 254-4220 or (661)  298-7865.

Wednesday — “Healthy Living” with health educator Loree Searcy from Providence Health & Services. 1-2 p.m., Activity Room.
March 3 — “Reverse Mortgages” with Bank of America Reverse Loan Officers Maria-Esther Villanueva and Gonzalo Monje, 1-2 p.m., Activity Room.
March 17 — Advance Care Planning and Physicians Order for Life Sustaining Treatments presented by Providence Health & Services palliative care manager Barbara Whitlatch and advance care planner Jonathan Urata.
March 24 — Digestive Health and Reducing Chances for Colorectal Cancer with Dr. Amy Goff.
March 31 — Oral Health and Our Wellbeing with mobile dental hygienist Donna Lombardi. (Caregivers encouraged to attend.)

Health Clinics
Free blood pressure screening takes place in activity room 3 each Wednesday from noon-1 p.m.
Wednesday, March 10 – Free blood Sugar/Diabetes Clinic with registered dietitian Lori Robinson.11 a.m.- noon, Day Care Office
Wednesday, March 24 – Free hearing clinic with audiologist Randall  Bartlett of Audiology Services for people who do not wear hearing aids. 11 a.m.-noon, Day Care Office.

Educational & Technical Training
Archaeology and Anthropology: Wednesday, 9:30-11:10 a.m. with Fred Rice of USC and Cal State Northridge.
Computer Training (Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced in Windows and Mac): Call the Center for Information.
Computer Training for the Visually Impaired: Monday, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m., Friday, 12-2 p.m.
Ham Radio: Tuesday, 1-2 p.m.

Food for the Soul
Put smiles on the faces and warm the hearts of homebound seniors when you become a Home-Delivered Meal driver. Become a part of our volunteer team to ensure that no senior goes without a meal. Help is desperately needed for as little as 2 1/2 hours one day a week or even one day a month (Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.). Vehicles provided.
