The Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce has thrown its support behind the three Santa Clarita City Council incumbents for the April 13 election.

The incumbents seeking re-election are Marsha McLean, Frank Ferry and Laurene Weste.

“We have a number of excellent candidates running for city council seats,” Chamber President Larry Mankin said in a statement. “The board, after careful review, voted to endorse the three incumbents because of their continued support of key business issues in the City of Santa Clarita.”

The Chamber’s board of directors voted Feb. 16 on the endorsements after the business advocacy group’s Government Affairs Committee surveyed most of the 11 candidates and interviewed each candidate.

Survey answers will be posted at the chamber’s Web site, scvchamber.com, next week.

The Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce serves 1,200 members.
