Thumbs down to editing glitches

Is it just me, or have there been some issues with the editing of the newspaper lately?

Just in today's (Saturday, May 24) paper for example, page A1 states the forecast will be High: 64 Low: 43, with isolated showers.

Then on page A2 it states the high will be 103 and the low 66. So should I wear shorts or a jacket?

Also on the front page it states that the comics are on page D6, but when I go to D6, excited about today's crossword and horoscope (always with the comics), there is an advertisement.

I can't find the comics anywhere in the paper.

These are just a couple of examples from that day's paper. I have not read through the whole thing yet.

I have noticed for the past several weeks many editing issues with stories and headlines. We love The Signal and want to continue supporting our hometown paper, but am I going to have to start checking facts in the paper, and not just typos?

Editor’s note: The Signal switched computer systems and software in May, and encountered some problems in the process. The May 24 issue was particularly painful. Since then, we’ve worked out kinks in our systems, hired a new copy desk employee, and added new staff on the production side (where the comics page is put together). We hope you see improvement in the product.
