More storms ahead for SCV

A cold winter storm is expected to move across the Santa Clarita Valley tonight through Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain may fall tonight, bringing a quarter to a half-inch of rain, said weather specialist Bonnie Bartling. Possible thunderstorms after midnight could bring heavier downpours and temperatures will range from the mid-50s to 60s with lows in the mid- to upper-40s.

Snow levels could potentially drop to 4,000 feet because of the cold air, she said.

“It’s pretty fast-moving (but) that’s not to discount there can be a little intense rain for a short period of time,” Bartling said.

Leftover moisture could create some showers Saturday.

While most of the weekend should remain partly cloudy, Bartling said, a similar storm is expected to bring more rain late Sunday into Monday.
