Vision Builders Group is nearing completion of Real Life Church, a new 42,000 square feet "green" worship facility in Valencia that features a 1,200 seat sanctuary with semi-circular wrap-around stadium seating, an outdoor amphitheater, a coffee house, a state-of-the art children's facility and administrative offices.

Completion is scheduled for Easter 2010.

The first "green" project of its kind in the state of California and the city of Santa Clarita, the church has the coveted LEED Gold certification. The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for the construction of green buildings.

When Real Life Church acquired nearly 10 acres near the corner of McBean Parkway and Newhall Ranch Road, it was soon discovered their design would be influenced by the site conditions. The plan soon became to excavate the site, "dig deep" and create a building recessed into a gradually sloping hillside, lending itself to "green" building techniques.

A sizeable undertaking for the team at Vision Builders Group, this project employed several hundred tradespeople, poured 3,500 cubic yards of concrete, and erected 250 tons of structural steel within an 18 month construction schedule.

By performing the critical construction activities of concrete and drywall, using innovative and cutting-edge concrete formwork techniques and detailed scheduling and coordination tools, VBG has proven that no construction job is too complex to stay within budget and on schedule.

Vision Builders Group was established in 1989 by a talented group of construction professionals to "build structures and relationships that last a lifetime." The VBG team is active in the community, our local churches and organizations such as Young Life, Zoe Children's Home, Prison Fellowship, Foundation for His Ministry and Voice of the Martyrs.

Real Life Church, a plant from Shepherd of the Hills, opened in Edwards' Town Center Movie Theatres in October 2000 before moving to West Ranch High School, where the congregants currently meet. It is often said its is a "church for those who don't like church" with messages that are relevant to "real life."

Members are active in the SCV community including the Santa Clarita Valley Emergency Winter Shelter, the SCV Pregnancy Center, SCV Young Life, Single Mothers Outreach and more.
