The school’s student council decided to make Ribbons for Hope and Messages of Support for Haiti. During the last meeting, the student council purchased green ribbons and made Hope pins.
The reason the kids chose the color green is because it’s the color of healing. They also have cards that you can make and send to the children in Haiti. All the money that they make will be sent to the Haiti residents through the Red Cross Foundation.
The students have raised more than $200 so far. The North Park Student Council hopes they can help the Haitians. This tragedy is the reason the children are helping. The children are doing all they can to raise money for the ill, injured, scared and missing residents of Haiti.
Leandra Theron and Taylor Halperin are fourth-grade students at North Park Elementary School.
