Three men were arrested in Valencia late Wednesday evening when deputies found two pounds of methamphetamine - roughly $20,000 worth - in their vehicle, sheriff's Sgt. Phil Morris said.

When deputies pulled the vehicle over, the drugs were visible inside the vehicle in plain view, Morris said, and added that the drugs have a street value of $9,000 to $10,000 per wholesale pound.

The arrest occurred after the driver of the vehicle ran a red light at an intersection shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday, Lt. Tom Bryski said.

Morris added that deputies were at the intersection where the vehicle failed to stop at the red light while traveling on Lyons Avenue in Valencia and immediately pulled the driver over for a routine traffic stop.

Additional information, including the suspects' names, bail amount and charges, will be made available after the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station's Narcotics Bureau completes its investigation.
