William S. Hart Union High School District Governing Board President Gloria Mercado-Fortine wants the district to take a look at its policy toward campus volunteers.

Kevin Thomas, a volunteer football coach and volunteer basketball personal trainer at Canyon High School, was recently arrested under suspicion of sexual assault of a student in the San Fernando Valley.

Mercado-Fortine said at Wednesday's meeting of the governing board that the board should take a look at the district's current policy toward the various individuals helping out at district schools "so that we know who is on our campuses."
