Man breaks window at store, in patrol car
A Canyon Country man was arrested on burglary and assault charges Saturday morning, after he allegedly assaulted his roommate and reportedly broke the front glass door of a liquor store on Soledad Canyon Road, according to officials.

Edward Gilhooley, 19, allegedly broke into Canyon Liquor Store in Canyon Country and apparently took liquor and cigarettes. After deputies arrested him and placed him in the back seat of a patrol car, Gilhooley kicked out the rear window and crawled out of the vehicle, according to the report. However, he was immediately detained by deputies.

Gilhooley was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station on felony charges of burglary, vandalism and attempted escape, and is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail. He may also face misdemeanor charges for allegedly assaulting his roommate.

Bottle bomb incidents under investigation
Two separate incidents of bottle bomb explosions that occurred Saturday are being investigated by detectives of the Sheriff's Arson Explosives Detail, officials said.

The first incident occurred Saturday morning in the 26000 block of Coronado Court in Valencia, where deputies found two plastic bottle bombs detonated.

Later that morning, deputies discovered two more bottle bombs detonated on Avenida Cappela.

It is unclear whether the incidents are related.
