Kellar needs no defense

This is not being written in defense of what Bob Kellar said, or of his right to say it, because his words need no defense or approval.

Where does it say in our city code of ethics that a representative of the city must give up his right (under the First Amendment) to free speech?

Kellar would never describe himself as a racist.

After expressing his (own personal) pride in the American flag, his (own personal) stance on illegal immigration and (his own personal) belief that the English language is the language of our country — someone else called him a racist.

Kellar merely said that if that is the definition of a “racist,” then he is a proud one.

Shame on you TimBen Boydston, there is nothing inflammatory in that.

After refusing to let your 16-year-old child stay out and “hang with the guys,” didn’t he ever say “You are the worst mom/dad in the world?”

Your response was most likely “If that is your definition of the worst mom/dad in the world, then I am a proud one.”

Don’t you people get it?

I don’t think any of us are opposed to legal immigration, but if more of us would stand up and express pride in our country, our laws, our English language and our flag, this country could once again be a shining example of how democracy works in a lawful, respectful society.
