Kellar is a patriot

Santa Clarita City Councilman Bob Kellar's comments made at a local Minutemen rally have been so egregiously taken out of context.
Kellar was referring to his response at a previous meeting regarding his stance on illegal immigration when someone told him, "You sound like a racist."

His response to that statement was a pre-emptive strike against the labels that many on the left will try to slap on anyone with a differing view.

Labels such as radical, extremist, hatemonger, racist and so on.

This is merely a tactic to distract, discredit and marginalize those who would dare take a different stance than them.

Legal and illegal immigration are two separate issues. Many would like to blend and confuse these two issues to support their claims that those who oppose illegal immigration are racist. Legal immigration is what this great country was built on.

It brings out the best in this country with motivated new citizens experiencing the freedoms and opportunity this country has to offer. Illegal immigration breeds crime (drug and human trafficking), is a major hole in national security and imports poverty, placing a drain on the economy and taxpayers.

Opposing illegal immigration does not equal being anti-immigration.

Thank you, Bob Kellar, for not being afraid to speak out against illegal immigration even though you knew full well the many false labels that others would attempt to wallpaper you with.

I applaud you for having the courage to support the enforcement of the law of the land. I would also like to slap a label on you of my own: patriot.
