Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Valencia will join other Tropical Smoothies to welcome the start of the summer with the second annual National Flip Flop Day celebration.

On June 21, the first 500 customers who come to the cafe, located at 28255 Newhall Ranch Road, wearing flip flop sandals will receive a free 24-oz. Jetty Punch smoothie.

The Valencia Smoothie cafe is also offering its support to Camp Sunshine, a Maine-based retreat program for children with life-threatening illnesses, as well as their families.

Funds raised through June 21 at Tropical Smoothie Cafe will be used to sponsor a family (or families) retreat for those living in or near Valencia.

In addition, the funds will be used to cover family travels to and from Camp Sunshine for Tropical Smoothie Cafe Week, Aug. 3 - 7, as well as camp scholarships and construction and capital improvement of the camp.
