An ex-Golden Valley High School counselor who quit during an investigation into alleged improper relations with a student was arrested this week trying to check into a San Fernando Valley hotel with an underage boy, a sheriff's official said Friday.

Roselyn Hubbell, 33, was arrested Tuesday on felony charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and child endangerment and was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station. Hubbell was released on $50,000 bond.

The minor who was checking into the hotel with Hubbell was not identified.

The former Golden Valley head counselor, who resigned last month, is one of five current or former William S. Hart Union High School District teachers, counselors or volunteers under investigation.

One of them, a volunteer Canyon High School coach who is employed by a San Fernando Valley high school, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of sexually assaulting a Los Angeles Unified School District student.

In an interview last April, Hubbell's brother-in-law, Dr. William Hubbell, said his brother and Roselyn Hubbell are separated and the husband is devastated.

"(My brother's) heart is breaking to see what she has done to this family," William Hubbell said. "I'm saying this because I love my nephews and I love my younger brother."

The couple's children, boys 2 and 4 years old, remain in the custody of their father, he said.

William Hubbell said the family had discovered the relationship between Roselyn Hubbell and the student by viewing communications between the two on My Space.

He said he had been holding his tongue about the relationship for a while but could no longer keep silent.

"I find it really disgusting as a dad - this is a young boy who has tattooed her (Roselyn Hubbell's) name onto his chest," Hubbell said. "I hope she pays for what she has done."

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Special Victim's Bureau had been investigating Roselyn Hubbell for alleged improper relationships with two students.

"We had some information that she might be there (at the hotel), so we had some people there waiting to see if something occurred, and we made the arrest," said Lt. Art Lucas of the sheriff's Special Victim's Bureau. "Information came in, and we did some followup, and they found them at the hotel checking in."

Roselyn Hubbell was placed on administrative leave in April when the allegations came to light, and she resigned her position in May. The William S. Hart Union High School District was informed of the arrest on Wednesday.

"It's in the hands of the Sheriff's (Department) now," said Rochelle Neal, assistant superintendent of human resources and student services for the district.

Roselyn Hubbell should be in court within the next 30 days, Lucas said.

"The case will be presented to the District Attorney's office, and they will determine whether the facts presented rise to the level of a crime," Lucas said.
