Following in the musical footsteps of Incubus and 12 Stones, Bridge 22 fits the mold of a solid rock band. Loud guitar riffs combined with vocal melodies that soften the edge, Bridge 22 will capture the attention of anyone ranging from moms to teenagers.

Influenced by Evanescence and Avenged Sevenfold, Ricky, Adrian and Rafael pull together head banging chord progressions and tie in their extensive backgrounds in jazz, salsa and gospel; the outcome is a sound with enough pop to make it every day listenable, but enough rock n' roll to head bang to.

Comprised of four talented and diverse musicians, Ricky Vitalo, lead vocals, Adrian Cupillo, lead guitar, Rafael Chavez, bass and the newest edition- Jake Sommers, on drums, Bridge 22 was molded and created into a band while all three were working at a gym in Santa Clarita.

"Ricky was holding auditions, he had a solo group going on, and it just so happened that he needed a lead guitarist and a drummer," says Adrian. "[The band] just fell into his lap."

Bridge 22 is equivalent to a small band of brothers. "We all want to see each other get better; we're all playing for each other so.... [we] sound like a band instead of solo artist[s]," says Ricky.

The band, formed in March of 2008, has accomplished a lot, signing on with Griffdog Records only two months after they banded together. It happened at a show, where the right person heard them at the right time and made them an appointment with John Griffin, a producer.

"We played for John Griffin and our second song he's just like ‘Stop. Let's go record you now'," Adrian says.

Ricky laughs and adds, "He didn't even let us finish the second song! He stopped us and we were like ‘Man, he didn't even want to hear the bridge!'".

Bridge 22 recently joined forces with Greg Thompson of FIDO Management to expand their fan base in the Santa Clarita, Acton, and Bakersfield areas.

"They are going to take it step by step and show us how to do it and we're excited about working with them," says Adrian.

Bridge 22 has been working with John Griffin and his team ever since, working on an upcoming CD debuting in 2010.

Although the band fell together thanks to fate, the making of their music has never been left up to chance.

"The brains behind it all, is Adrian," Ricky admits.

A musician dedicated to perfection, Adrian stays up all night long writing: "I can not leave anything unfinished, even if it gets finished and it's not exactly what I want. I just want it to be finished, so I can come back to it and fix it up again."

While Adrian enjoys the writing process, Ricky and Rafael take pleasure in performing.

"Being on stage is my oasis," Rafael said. "I can get away from everything else when I'm on stage and I love performing. I live for this."
