Expect to pay a few bucks more to the cashier at City Hall beginning July 1.

Hundreds of city service fees will go up about 4 percent due to an increase in the Consumer Price Index as reported by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Every five years, city officials examine the costs associated with providing city services and adjust fees accordingly.

With the council's approval this week, fees ranging from development fees to some parks and recreation classes will go up 4.2 percent. Filming permits will also increase from $394 to $411 per application.

Some services were spared from the cost increases, including adult sports, aquatic programs and camp programs.

Development projects submitted prior to Sept. 10 will be charged the existing rates. All other fees will go into effect on July 1.

City officials estimate the revised fees will result in additional budgetary revenues of $433,160, which are due to be reviewed mid-year. The additional revenue has not been included in the 2008-2009 city budget.
