The next Canyon Country Advisory Committee (CCAC) meeting will be held Wednesday, Jan. 20, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., in the George A. Caravalho Sports Complex Activity Center Banquet Room, 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa Clarita 91350.

During the meeting, the Disney Corporation will provide a presentation on their latest local project, Disney/ABC Studios At The Ranch, an exciting new facility to be located off Placerita Canyon Road just east of Highway 14.

Also, the committee will present the first in its series of "Meet the City Council Candidate" sessions. TimBen Boydston and Harrison Katz will speak about themselves and answer audience questions.

As with every new year, nominations for 2010 CCAC offices will be open. Elections will be conducted during the group's April 2010 meeting.

Future installments of "Meet the City Council Candidate" sessions will include David Gauny and Marsha McLean at the Feb. 17 meeting, and Johnny Pride at the March meeting.

At this time, 12 candidates have pulled candidate folders at City Hall. In addition to those candidates scheduled above, Frank Ferry, David Galvan, Daniel Henriquez and Laurene Weste remain uncommitted for a session. Mark Kirikpatrick, Kenneth Mann and Henry Schultz will be sent invitations this week.

The Ad Hoc Recycling Facility Site Selection Citizen Committee (MRF Site Selection) will meet Wednesday, Jan. 27, 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. An agenda has not yet been released.
