The 9th Annual Golf Classic and Auction, a favorite among local golfers, included several competitions, including the longest drive, closest to the pin and a putting contest.

For the first time, the tournament including a putt for $1 million. Sponsored by Jim Doty of First Security Lending, golfers were given an opportunity to sink a 50-foot putt in one shot.

Unfortunatelty, no one was able to sink the putt, yet the 18-hole tournament was an exciting event for everyone involved that raised tens of thousands of dollars for pediatric cancer.

While the amount raised was not yet announced, last year's tournament raised $61,000 to benefit the foundation's programs.

This year, more than 100 golfers participated in one of two charity golf tournaments in Valencia.
