Wine and food lovers in the Santa Clarita Valley are invited to a wonderful event that supports the Castaic Education Foundation's efforts to maintain high quality programs for students at the Sweethearts for Education Wine Tasting Event at Salt Creek Grille on Feb. 11.

"The donations received from events last year helped us install a new running track at North Lake Hills Elementary," said Diane Fiero, chair of the Castaic Education Foundation.

"The funds also allow us to grant teachers the needed resources for other educational projects and programs. In these tough budget times, community support is needed more than ever before."

The event will begin at 6 p.m. with appetizers and desserts as well as a series of wine tastings.

There will also be drawings and a raffle held at the event.

"Last year's event sold out and everyone had a splendid time. I think its proximity to Valentine's Day and the fact that is occurs before a holiday weekend, brings people out ready to celebrate. Not to mention the wonderful location, food and great wines."

Tickets are available for $45 each.

For more information, phone Marcela Kocen, vice chair, at (661) 702-9551 or see the Castaic Education Foundation Web site at castaiceducation.org or send an e-mail to castaiceducation@gmail.com.
