WASHINGTON (AP) - Washington, D.C., Police Chief Cathy Lanier says she expects the investigation into Washington Wizards star Gilbert Arenas bringing guns into the team's Verizon Center locker room to wrap up within a few days.

In an interview Thursday on WTOP-FM, Lanier said she could not comment specifically on the case, but said there are "numerous people involved that have to be interviewed."

Lanier says police detectives and the U.S. Attorney's Office are jointly investigating the matter.

She says they have had "cooperation from start to finish" from those involved.

Lanier says if people want to criticize the investigation, they should wait until it's complete. She says people will have to be "a little patient."
