Next VIA luncheon set for Jan. 19

The Valley Industrial Association (VIA) will host their next luncheon at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at the Valencia Country Club, 27330 Tourney Road, Valencia.

City of Santa Clarita Marketing & Economic Development Manager Jason Crawford and Planning Manager Lisa Webber will discuss various economic indicators and their impact on Santa Clarita.

Economic indicators, including the real estate market, commercial and residential development, tax generation, stock prices, and film and visitor activity throughout both the city of Santa Clarita and the Santa Clarita Valley will be presented. These indicators provide a general snapshot of the overall financial health of the community.

Ways the city of Santa Clarita manages the mandates SB 375, the "Anti-Sprawl Bill," will also be discussed. Presenters will offer information about the bill as it pertains to housing, transportation and the reduction of greenhouse gases.

The event is by reservation only and must be made no later than Thursday, Jan. 14.

Cost for members is $40 while non-members cost $50.

When covering reserved seats at the door, cash or check only. Credit card payments may be made in advancement through the VIA Office.

"No shows" or cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will be billed. If space is available, attendees without reservations will be accommodated and assessed an additional $10 fee for the luncheon.
