Obamacare fantasy

Nearly every day, we are treated to letters advocating Obamacare that ignore history, reality, economics and fairness in favor of a fantasy.

In this fantasy, limited resources are made available to millions “who need it” while “costing less” and “without rationing” by taking money from “people who can afford it” via an ever-more-powerful and ever-more-bankrupt central government, comprised of benevolent angels who can accurately predict the future — starting now.

Sometimes such advocates deride “profit” — even though everyone’s job (and all progress) depends on profit.

Sometimes they offer sob stories — even though everyone has to contend with life’s difficulties.

But always their answer is the same: Central planning, and this time it’s really gonna work! They promise!

I doubt that any of the Obamacare advocates actually live their own lives in such naive fashion, which leaves just one other possibility: They know better, but are pretending anyway.
