Golden Valley girls varsity soccer team welcomed a new head coach this week.
Jose Leon joins the Grizzlies after a three year position as head coach for Hart's girls varsity team from 2003-05.
Leon's predecesor, Scott Matters, is leaving the program to pursue a teaching position at Valencia High.
"We're sad to see him leave, but he's taking a very good opportunity that came to him," said Golden Valley Athletic Director Chris Printz.
Leon, who is semi retired. will be a walk on coach for the Grizzlies who finished their 2007-08 season 4-12, 0-9.
