Church of Hope food pantry, thrift store
The Church of Hope in Canyon Country maintains a thrift store and food pantry to help those in need.
Where: 18364 Soledad Canyon Road, Canyon Country
When: The pantry is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. Closed Christmas Day.
Need: Volunteers, nonperishable food items, clothing and small household goods.

Santa Clarita Valley Winter Shelter
What: The SCV Emergency Winter Shelter serves individuals and families without food, homes or places to spend winter nights.
Need: Volunteers, cash, item donations

Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry
What: The SCV Food Pantry provides food essentials to individuals and families in need.
Where: 24133 Railroad Avenue, Newhall
When: 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday through Dec. 23. Pantry is closed from Dec. 24 to Jan. 2. Seniors only: 9 a.m. to noon third Friday. Working clients only: 10 a.m. to noon first Saturday.
Need: Volunteers, monetary or nonperishable food donations. Five-dollar grocery store gift cards are also accepted to give to families for the Hunger Doesn't Take a Holiday program.

Single Mother's Outreach
Single Mother's Outreach is reaching out to help families in need.
Where: Items can be sent to or dropped off at the outreach at 24271 Main Street in Newhall or placed in collection boxes located at Bank of Santa Clarita, Priority One Credit Union, The Signal, Real Life Church, City Hall, and Canyon Vista Children's Academy.
Need: Gift cards for restaurants, grocery stores and gas stations

Help the Children
Need: Food donations - turkeys and hams for Christmas, canned meat, canned vegetables (no green beans), canned fruit, baking supplies (flour, sugar, salt), evaporated milk, pasta and sauce, rice, dried pinto beans. Gift cards - grocery stores, gas cards, office supply stores, home improvement stores.
Where: Donations can be dropped off at 26450 Ruether Ave., Suite 208, in Saugus

Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley
Where: Donations can be dropped off at 24909 Newhall Ave. in Newhall
Need: Gift cards - grocery stores, big box stores, electronics stores, toy stores, department store cards, non-perishable food items.

Eternal Valley Memorial Park
What: Eternal Valley is collecting new hats for children who are suffering from cancer.
Where: Donations can be dropped off at the memorial park's office, 23287 N. Sierra Highway in Newhall.
When: Through the end of December.
Need: New, kid-friendly hats.

SCV Senior Center
What: The Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center, which is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the SCV's senior citizens, is seeking goods for seniors and their caregivers.
Where: Donations can be dropped off at the Senior Center, 22900 Market Street in Newhall.
Need: Monetary donations and gift cards, especially at grocery stores or big-box retailers with pharmacies
