Locals will have a chance to "Save-A-Stray for the Holidays" at reduced prices from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Castaic Animal Shelter. The Castaic Animal Shelter's address is 31044 N. Charlie Canyon Road in Castaic.

In an effort to help homeless pets this holiday season, the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control will host seven adoption events in Downey, Carson, Baldwin Park, Lancaster, Castaic, Agoura and Antelope Valley.

Adoption fees will be will be reduced at all locations. The reduced adoption prices continue through Dec. 24.

"Each year, the department takes in more than 90,000 animals," said Michelle Roache, deputy director of outreach and special enforcement. "There are not enough homes for all of them."
