Single Mothers Outreach is currently looking for contributions to assist in their effort to establish a Technology and Career Development Center.

This center will work to provide single parents with technology skills training, employment assessment and career planning, financial competence and opportunities for home-based business incubation.

The program's long-range vision is to partner with businesses that wish to outsource technology-related projects to SMO's parents in such fields as bookkeeping, graphic design, virtual assistants, etc.

Thanks to donors, supporters and volunteers, SMO has experienced a banner year in 2009. They added 110 families (ASSIST), helped seven students obtain computers (SUSTAIN), served 50 families by providing clothing and back-to-school supplies (ASSIST), instructed 11 parents in starting an eBay business, graduated seven parents from our financial literacy program (GROW) and indulged 100 moms and children by providing a free day at Six Flags Magic Mountain for Mothers Day (INSPIRE).

SMO has provided 81 percent of every donated dollar directly to programs benefiting their single parents.

In an effort to insure a bright future for SMO, the organization has worked to build a strong Board of Directors.

In 2009, it added Stephanie English, Diane Fiero, Marc Emmer, Jay Thomas and Ed Redd to its distinguished board.

There are two ways to help support SMO. Anyone interested can either give a one-time tax deductible contribution or can become a part of the growing group of co-builders who give monthly to the mission of SMO.
