Bridgeport Elementary, Castaic Middle School and Saugus High School were the winners of the month-long Be Cool to My School Test-Drive Rally that ended Sunday.

The Santa Clarita Valley Auto Dealers Association headed up the fundraiser to raise money for elementary, junior high and high schools in Santa Clarita. A total of 33 schools participated, and the three winning schools will each receive $1,000.

"It's much needed," said Don Fleming, president of the association. "We've always been a great supporter of the schools."

One hundred points were given to the school of the customers' choice for each test-drive. One thousand points were given for each vehicle sold. A total of 125 vehicles were test-driven and 20 vehicles were sold at the 13 local auto dealers that participated.

"We try to support the community and give back," said Gary Choppe, who is in charge of advertising for the fundraiser.

He said the association will announce the winner of a trip to Costa Rica on Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Westfield Valencia Town Center.

As for whether the association will hold the fundraiser again next year, Fleming said, "If (the schools) like it, we'll do it again."
