A Night to Behold
Who: Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Parish
What: In keeping with the celebration of Santa Clarita’s newest Catholic church, the parish is inviting the
community to celebrate Christmas at its fifth annual Christmas Dinner and Dance at the newly dedicated Slattery Hall. The “Night to Behold” includes music, dancing and dinner provided by Hundred Islands Grill. Tickets are $40. There will be a silent auction and 12 chances to win cash raffle prizes starting at $500

Don Piper guest speaks
Who: Guest speaker, Don Piper, at Valencia United Methodist Church
What: Piper is the author of best-selling book, “90 Minutes in Heaven - a True Story of Death and Life.” Piper has traveled across the country and around the world sharing his story. A book signing will follow. Admission in $10. Proceeds will support the Santa Clarita Valley Emergency Winter Shelter and a Nicaraguan mission - Project Chacocente, www.outofthedump.org. Tickets are available through the church office.

Hope is Born
Who: Steve Lively & Friends
What: The Pregnancy Resource Center of San Fernando Valley presents a special Christmas concert featuring Steve Lively, a local singer. The performance will feature a live orchestra, singers, special guests and music from Steve Lively’s “Hope is Born,” Christmas recording. Tickets are $15.  
When: Silent auction begins at 5:30 p.m. Monday, concert begins at 7 p.m.

Sharing grief
Who: Care Ministry at Grace Baptist Church
What: Surviving the Holidays seminar which is free and open to the community. The holidays are a time when the difficult emotions of grief hit even harder. People need guidance and encouragement to make it through.

What: Grace will hosts two separate programs: Surviving the Holidays program for those who are grieving and Surviving the Holidays for those who are divorced or going through a divorce.

Grief Share program                                                              
Who: Heart of the Canyons Church and New Life Church
What: Grief Share program. For those who are grieving the loss of a loved one, you don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. Grief Share is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk along with you through one of life’s most difficult experiences.

Joy women’s study
Who: Grace Baptist Church
What: Joy of Living Bible Study for women; an interdenominational, in-depth study of God’s word in an informal, small group setting. Join in for a 28-week study of Genesis. Child care available for ages 0 through 5 years-old.

Who: Friendly Valley Community Church
What: Blue Christmas service. Many people feel sad and lonely at this holiday season. It is precisely when we feel lost on the road, when we have been tripped up by dark potholes of despair that we are most in need of a guiding light.
