A Saugus man was arrested early Thursday morning for allegedly threatening to kill his family and pointing a shotgun at his wife and children, a sheriff’s official said.

Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station arrested Cedric Tombo, 58, of Saugus, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, making criminal threats and possession of assault weapons, all felonies, said Lt. Mark Hershey of the Sheriff’s Station.

At 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to reports that Tombo was allegedly brandishing a shotgun and making threats of violence against his wife and kids, Hershey said.

Upon arriving, deputies searched the home and found nine loaded guns, including five assault weapons, he said.

Tombo was arrested and is due in court Tuesday.

He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail, Hershey said.
