Tired of the fighting

Dear President Barack Obama,
I am here at my house writing to you. I am 8 years old. I go to meetings and canvassing with my mother. When I go canvassing, I am so surprised how many people don’t know about your health care plan.

I have seen so many people in pain, dying without health care on the news and with my mom at her table for health care at the mall.

I hear our people’s health care stories. Health care is way too expensive! I mean $600 a month, plus $50 co-pay plus $10,000 deductible. You have got to be kidding me!

There is no reason for this stupidness! Whoever made health care cost this much made a wrong choice.

Wake up, America! People go to war to fight for our country, and when the soldiers come back from war, some get seriously injured and some have died.

No one should ever have to go to war. In fact, there shouldn’t even be wars.

No one should have to live without decent health care. We are all one big family. Families are not supposed to fight each other. That is not what God made us for.

I am sick and tired of all of these wars, all the fighting. We are supposed to take care of each other. We need health care we can afford. I know you can make it happen.

Once I had three splinters in my hand. One almost went completely through my hand. I didn’t have insurance, so my mom had to use a needle to dig it out. It was really deep and hurt really bad.

Another time I needed insurance was one morning when I woke up and I had a piece of hair in my eye. I was crying for a month. My mom has been bleeding in her colon since December. She has no health care insurance.

We all deserve to get the care we need. Be strong, America, be strong! We, I, believe you can make a difference. I want to go to Harvard School of Politics and write policies when I grow up.

I am Sherryan’ Lima’s daughter, Mariah Grace Lima-Kuderer, and I am the future you are fighting for.
