We all need health care changes

Although there are differing opinions on the way national health care can be achieved, most Americans want and need health care.

One of our nation’s founding principles was self-reliance, but another was helping our neighbor in times of need. This includes helping those who cannot afford it themselves.

How is it that national health care is more socialistic than Social Security, Medi-Cal, and Medicaid?

No one should be denied health care or be forced to lose their home because they cannot afford coverage. Americans should accept responsibility for their own health, which means adopting a more healthy lifestyle, which would lower the cost of health care.

Surely we can all agree that something meaningful needs to be done to fix the current system to increase coverage, care, and reduce cost.

Otherwise, the current system, if left unchanged, will collapse of its own dysfunction.

Politicians need to recognize that if they can’t do the people’s work they will be replaced.
