It's tough for me to believe that others aren't as lucky as me. But I do know the truth, I have those friends, and I am thankful since my mom is such an angel she helps them.
If you truly counted all of my children it's in the hundreds. All of my brothers friends and my friends have adopted my mom as their own.
She never turns anyone away. They can call the house any time for advice or support and she's there for them. Just like she has been there for me all these years. She supported me, through one mistake after another, knowing I had to do it on my own.
Most parents wouldn't let that happen. They keep their kids from being independent because they don't want them to get hurt. But my mom knew that being hurt makes us love the good so much more.
The pain and struggles have been worth it. Here I sit five months pregnant, so excited to give my child all the gifts my mom gave me.
Thank you for running that column. It touched my heart and allowed me to remind my mom what amazing women she really is.
