Students rewarded for meeting goals

Top reader Brielle Gardenhire, a sixth grader at Fair Oaks Ranch Community School, places the finishing touches on top of Newton's head. Gardenhire and other classmates who met the goals of the Accelerated Reading Program got a chance to turn Mr. Newton into an ice cream sundae.

Fair Oaks Ranch Community School sixth grade teacher Ken Newton is covered in chocolate and strawberry sauce Friday afternoon as a treat to his students who met their Accelerated Reading Program Goal since the beginning of the school year. Fifty percent of his class met their reading goals, equaling a total of 4 million words read by these students.
