A San Bernardino man was arrested after he allegedly tried to carjack a Canyon Country woman at gunpoint as she waited in the drive-through lane of a fast food restaurant in the 19000 block of Soledad Canyon Road.

David Graves, 20, was arrested Friday and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station on felony charges of attempted carjacking and attempted kidnapping. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail at Los Angeles Men's Central Jail.

According to the sheriff's report, Graves allegedly approached the victim's car, pulled a handgun from his pants pocket and tried to open the rear door, which was locked. He then approached the driver's door and told the woman to open the door, tapping his gun on the window. She refused to do so.

Moments later, a second car pulled into the drive-through lane, apparently causing Graves to leave the scene.

The victim immediately called 911, and after an investigation, deputies found a man matching the description of the suspect a few blocks away, where he was detained and arrested. Deputies recovered a loaded handgun at the scene of the arrest, and a fully loaded ammunition magazine in the bathroom of a nearby fast food restaurant.
