California Highway Patrol officers are investigating the identity of a man who led them on a brief high-speed chase Thursday morning on Interstate 5.

The pursuit began about 7:30 a.m. when the driver traveling northbound on The Old Road, just south of Hasley Canyon Road, wouldn’t stop for an officer who tried to pull him over, said CHP Officer John Lutz.

The man, driving a silver Dodge Durango, instead sped up and entered onto the southbound I-5, where he reached speeds of 110 mph, Lutz said.

When the driver reached traffic near the Calgrove Boulevard exit, he drove in the right shoulder and center divider area at speeds up to 90 mph before getting away, Lutz said.

Officers are investigating the incident and plan to arrest the man on suspicion of evading arrest if he is caught, Lutz said.
